MANSFIELD Secondary College (MSC) year 12 student, Tim Hume, has been announced as one of the winners of the prestigious Tuckwell Scholarship in the 2016 cohort.

Tim was selected from a field of 740 applicants with 25 students chosen in the final round.

The scholarship provides Tim with financial and mentoring support to help him through his studies at the Australian National University where he will study physics, commencing in 2016.

Tim was selected on his academic merits and commitment to community development, as well as his proven desire to use his natural abilities to reach his full potential.

He has also shown leadership and a strong community spirit, particularly through his role as School Captain this year.

“I am excited by the opportunities which will arise from the Tuckwell program,” Tim said.
