Delatite division B bats falter

BOUNDARY SHOT: Delatite B’s Ken Neale faces up to Nick Stewart from City Colts White, scoring a boundary from his shot.

DELATITE’S division B side will need to be on top of its game this Saturday after an ordinary batting effort against City Colts White on the first day of the latest round.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat at its Lords Reserve headquarters, Delatite was off to an inauspicious start with the first wicket crashing with no runs on the board.

A resurrection ensued with Allister Bennett digging in for 10.

Brett Bradley made a welcome return to the club and proceeded to top score with a terrific 35 in a tick under two hours.

It was patient batting that was needed against an accurate bowling attack and that was what Bradley provided.

At 2/44 the ship had been righted and Delatite seemed to be back on track.
