Two Aussie Day bubs born at MDH

OUR NEWEST AUSSIES: Australia Day will always be special for these two tiny babies – born at Mansfield District Hospital on Australia Day 2014. Blake James Comerford (right) the first child for Michelle and Mathew Comerford, arrived shortly after 5am, while the yet un-named and early arrival for Jill Sparrow and David Garland arrived at 12.59pm.

AUSTRALIA Day turned out to be a busy time at Mansfield District Hospital with two new arrivals.

The first to arrive was Blake James Comerford, first child for Michelle and Mathew of Mansfield, arriving at 5.09am and weighing a healthy 3394gms.

Blake is the first grandchild for Ged and Shelly Comerford of Mansfield, and Geoff and Dorothy Foster of Knox, formerly of Mansfield.
He is also the first great-grandchild for Jean Desmond also formerly of Mansfield.

Jill Sparrow and David Garland were a little surprised at the early arrival of their little boy with a rushed delivery on Australia Day at 12.59pm and weighing just 2580gms.

Jill was taking a weekend break away from Melbourne at their holiday home at Sawmill Settlement when little bubs decided to come some three weeks early – hence a quick trip to Mansfield District Hospital.

David was also caught off guard still working in Melbourne and made the quick trip to Mansfield for the arrival.

Jill said the staff at MDH were absolutely wonderful and thanked them all for their first baby’s safe arrival.
