Yarck hall receives funding upgrades

Sykes delivers funds for local projects

BILL Sykes (MLA, Benalla) hit the road last week distributing funds to various organisations throughout the Mansfield Shire and beyond.

First port of call was Yarck where he announced $169,000 in funding to upgrade the Yarck Community Hall.

The funding came from the Regional Growth Fund ‘Putting Locals First’ program and ensured the hall continues to meet the needs of local residents.

Mr Sykes said the hall was used for a wide range of community activities including weddings, funerals, community functions and gatherings by various clubs and organisations.

“The hall is also the venue for the monthly Yarck Market and in most instances its use is provided free, with costs being met through community donations, local market receipts and limited hire revenue,” he said.
