THE new Mansfield Scout hall was officially opened last Saturday by the Chief Commissioner of Scouting, Brendon Watson.

In opening the hall, Commissioner Watson noted the support Scouting was getting.

“The State Government put in millions to Scouting to help develop people like you,” he said to the Scouts.

“I thank the government and recognise all involved in holding things together while the facility was being built.

“However, we need more good volunteers like the ones we have here.”

He added that Mansfield is ideally situated for Scouting activities, with the High Country, Lake Eildon and the great outdoors around.
