Eagles’ season of slow starts continues

ONE of the lesser road trips for the Mansfield Eagles saw them head to Mooroopna on Saturday and come home with a 17-point defeat.

Again the slow start after a road trip cruelled the Eagles for the match.

The Mansfield hierarchy will have to seriously look at taking the team over the night before if the ‘first quarter blues’ continue.

In round five they were down by 20 points at Rochester after the first quarter, at Echuca in round nine by 21 points, down by nine points against Shepparton Bears in round 10 and on Saturday down by 22 points.

In most of those games they came home with a wet sail, but all too late.

Inaccurate kicking at the end did not help as they kicked 4.7 in the last quarter, while holding the Cats to 1.2.
