AS reported last week, after leading qualification, local shooter Catherine Skinner failed to make the medal finals of the Women’s Trap at the Commonwealth Games.
Catherine’s father Ken, gave the Mansfield Courier a detailed account of the day.
“Well it was hero to zero in a matter of 10 targets.
Catherine started well with a round of 24 out of 25 to take the lead right from the start.
She was shooting really well, not needing many second barrels and looking pretty comfortable.
The grounds were good, the conditions we’re calm and cool and apart from the two mile route march to get to the range, (excluding the bus ride), security pat down and lack of an overall scoreboard to see what the results were, everything was working smoothly.
