MANSFIELD has taken on a fight – this time against the illicit drug ‘ice’ – which it can ill afford to lose.
Mansfield is often described as a ‘can do’ town.
It holds the proud record of the only local government area to successfully de-amalgamate during the Kennett era.
And it fights well above its weight when it comes to sporting success – the likes of Simon Gerrans, Josh Fraser, Catherine Skinner, Victoria Mitchell and Chumpy Pullin attesting to that.
But to give ourselves a sporting chance against this insidious drug, a whole of community effort is needed.
It is inconceivable for the citizens of the Mansfield Shire to think the High Country is immune from this epidemic, that has a rising number of youth under its spell.
