Brent Shields has spent the last decade giving to this town

YOU could describe Brent Shields as a butcher and you wouldn’t be wrong.

However, what Brent has brought to Mansfield goes well past his ability with a side of beef.

Born in Mordialloc in 1962, Brent’s family moved to Ferntree Gully when he was just one year old.

“At that time it was a new subdivision with dirt roads,” he remembered.

“Across the road was an abattoir and I had a bone collection of skulls and femurs etc.

“I guess it might have left some subtle impression on my future career direction.”
