Loss to Seymour wins Eagles the wooden spoon

THE battleground for the Mansfield Eagles at the weekend was Kings Park Seymour where the 12th placed Eagles took on the 11th placed Lions.

THE battleground for the Mansfield Eagles at the weekend was Kings Park Seymour where the 12th placed Eagles took on the 11th placed Lions.

At stake for both teams was a possible wooden spoon.

Alas, the 59 point win to Seymour means Mansfield take the unwanted prize for 2014, the first time for over a decade.

Again the Eagles were slow to start, scoring just one goal three points in the first half.

Judged best on ground was Dave Clarke.

He was supported by the usual names, Ben Fagan, Adam Boshevski and Chris Hensby.
