MANSFIELD Junior Football Club held their presentation night for the under 14 and under 16 teams at the Mansfield Football Netball Club on Sunday night.

As well as awarding the best and fairest, and various other awards, the evening was also a huge celebration for the under 16s who won their grand final earlier in the day.

This year was Mansfield’s first season in the Wangaratta District Junior Football League, and the on-field results, with both under 14 and under 16 teams making the finals, was just reward for the very hard work and lobbying that went on to have Mansfield admitted to the league.

The night kicked off with the under 14 Best and Fairest (B&F) with votes counted out in Brownlow Medal style for the last four rounds.

Mirroring the league B&F result, Warwick Crawford was a clear winner, ahead of Ben Christopher and Joel Sanford, and Warwick’s brother Doug accepted the award on his behalf, with Warwick away at interschool skiing.

Coach Bill Lines also presented other awards and thanked the players, support staff, team manager Rachelle Roberts, and the committee for all their hard work.
