LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION: Hisense Arena in Melbourne was lit up with the talent of around 3000 students, including 21 singers from Mansfield Secondary College at the 2014 Schools Spectacular with this year’s theme ‘Dare to Dream’.

“DARE To Dream” was the theme of this year’s 2014 State Schools Spectacular performed on Saturday at Hisense Arena, Melbourne.

Twenty-one students from Mansfield Secondary College were part of around 3000 students to hit the stage for two performances to a packed audience of 10,000 people.

The students were part of a 1500 strong choir and sang a range of songs from Jackson Five’s “Can You Feel It” to Lady Gaga’s ‘Applause’.

Kiera Price was selected to perform in the Performing Arts Choir, and this special choir sang a beautiful piece called “The Dominion of Dreams”.

The concert was a showcase of talent from Victorian government schools, and has taken close to a year to organise.

To quote Richard Bolt, the secretary of Department of Education and Early Childhood Development: “The Spectacular is not just great entertainment; it also gives students an opportunity to learn outside the classroom.
