FOURTEEN-year-old Warwick Crawford is the Mansfield Courier Sportsperson of the Month for August.
Warwick’s outstanding achievements over winter on the ski slopes and the football field made him an obvious nomination, with individual and team successes along the way.
Showing he can seamlessly swap between ski boots and footy boots with equal success, Warwick claimed gold medals in individual and team events at the National Interschools Snowsports held at Perisher, while claiming top honors as under 14 best and fairest in the Wangaratta and District Junior Football League (WDJFL).
Having qualified for skiercross, Alpine giant slalom (GS) and moguls at the Victorian Interschools held in his backyard at Mt Buller, he headed up a strong Mansfield Secondary College Snowsports team that went to Perisher for the nationals.
Against the best schoolboy skiers from across Australia, Warwick took out the individual gold medal in the skiercross and the Alpine GS events, and the division three team gold with Ned Angliss and Daniel Walker.
Together with Flynn Bowker, he took fourth in the moguls team event as well.
