THE top snowsports competitors and teams from five states converged on Perisher recently for national honors in the 2014 Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships.
Mansfield Secondary College (MSC) fielded 16 teams coming home with the honor of fourth best co-ed school in Australia and also the best performing state school in Victoria.
Although MSC did not have many ‘podium’ finishes, these results reflect the depth of talent in the team and the excellent skills these young athletes have.
Highlights of the week-long competition included two individual gold medals for Warwick Crawford in the skiercross and Alpine GS races, with very fast runs.
Together with Dan Walker and Ned Angliss, the division three boys skiercross team collected team gold.
Daniel Walker showed his great all-round ability coming third place in the division three moguls, with the best jump score of the round and a mere whisker of a point behind first, plus another bronze medal in the skiercross and a fourth place in the cross country race.
