Clinic raises $7000 for McGrath Foundation

PINK LADIES: Getting into the spirit of things were Andrea Webster, Karen Toose, Kerrie Treacy, Mish Miller, Sue Parker and Kim Blanch.

THERE were horses in bra’s, riders in feather boas and even one dressed up in her undies – but it was all for a good cause when the Merrijig Campdraft Association hosted the annual Women in Campdrafting clinic recently.
A fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation, the club raised almost $7000 towards breast cancer research.
With many local businesses and individuals providing raffle donations, time and expertise, the campdraft clinic was an opportunity for all horse enthusiasts to learn something new.
“A big thanks must go to everyone who made the weekend such an incredible success – particularly our instructors David and Amanda Reiter, Troy Randall, Dennis Heywood and Steve Arbuthnot, our first aid volunteers the Devlins, and our fabulous caterer Cathy Kirley from Food with Love Catering,” Andrea Pickett said.
Celebrating its fifth year, the Women in Campdraft clinic is an annual fundraising event that travels across the country and is due to be held at Keith, South Australia, next year.
