THE Mansfield Kindergarten has received $1500 in funding through the Technology for the Tots State Government program.

The money will be used to purchase two iPads, one for each kinder room, with Cindy McLeish (MLA, Seymour) announcing the grant during a visit last Thursday.

“On behalf of the Mansfield Kindergarten, I would like to say thank you for the funding,” Brooke Shaw, president of the kindergarten committee said.
“The iPads will be used as learning tools for the children in order to keep them up with information technology programs.”

Until now the kinder has used older desktop computers given to them by the Mansfield Secondary College, and although the focus is on outdoor play, Ms Shaw said the iPads would not only provide the children with up-to-date technology but would also be a useful platform for activity slideshows and photo displays for parents.

Already anticipating the arrival of the iPads, some students are getting in line early.

“When they get here, I want to be the first to have a go,” Karryk Hastings said.
