THIS weekend sees another one day fixture in Cleary Shield, to be played on Sunday due to the Premier Cricket game being played at the Benalla Gardens Oval on Saturday.

St Joseph’s hosts Delatite at the Friendlies Reserve with both sides welcoming back their respective skippers after being unavailable in the first round.

Christian DeFazio’s return will certainly bolster St Joseph’s batting lineup, which performed creditably last week in their game against Warrenbayne.

Andrew Startin, Delatite’s captain, will also give his team a boost with both bat and ball following their impressive win against Violet Town last week.

New player Dean Shaw impressed with the bat and ball, as did veteran Peter Scales with the ball.

Put star quick bowler Matt Stevenson in the mix and Delatite will be formidable opponents again this year.
