LAST Saturday, when the Mansfield Children’s and Family Centre was officially opened, a dream that was born more than four years ago finally came true.
As well as state politicians, the event was also attended by MACE chairman Ross Martin, shire council chief executive officer David Roff, Mayor Ray Robinson, Councillors Marg Attley, Russell Bate, Ellen Hogan and Paul Sladdin, who was there not only as a councillor but also as CEO of MACE.
Many representatives from the shire offices and from the neighborhood made up the audience.
“Oh, happy days,” was the phrase used by Minister Wendy Lovell when she rose to speak.
“This is a fantastic resource for the town, and absolutely the right thing to do with this space” she said.
“Statistics show that 95 per cent of a child’s brain is developed before school.”
