Delatite scores daily double

AIRBONE: Second XI bowler Ross Brown was all fury in the match against Violet Town at Lords on Saturday.

THE Delatite Cricket Club has continued its winning way in last weekend’s fixtures of BDCA cricket.

The first XI had a comfortable win in Cleary Shield competition against St Joseph’s at the Friendlies Reserve in Benalla.

They easily passed the meagre St Joseph’s total of only 105 of which Joey’s skipper Christian DeFazio top scored for the home side with 32 runs.

He was eventually caught at the wicket by newcomer Dean Shaw off the bowling of Matt Stevenson.

Bowling honors went to Delatite stalwart Aaron Madsen, up from the second XI, who took a very handy 3/20.

Paceman Matt Stevenson ended with 2/5, and with two wickets apiece, the Delatite young guns Peter Marks and Tyler Smith provided exceptional support.
