Spring Arts festival open

WHATEVER: When you see strange people around town, you know the Mansfield High Country Festival and Spring Arts has arrived. At the opening last Friday night, (from left) Dallas Daniels, Wendy Jagger and Sioux Hardiman were in character for the Spring Arts Walk.

THE 31st version of the Mansfield High Country Festival and Spring Arts was officially opened last Friday night at the Hotel Delatite.

The event began with the usual splendid musical work of the MAD orchestra, looking even madder than usual.

MC for the evening was ‘The Green Frog’ aka Dr Will Twycross.

Bringing his offbeat sense of humour, the Green Frog kept the audience entertained as mayor Ray Robinson opened the festival.

“I must especially pay tribute to the festival partners, Mansfield Shire Council, the Mansfield Arts Council and the Rotary Club of Mansfield, who have been untiring supporters of the events,” he said.

“I must also thank all the sponsors who help make this such a successful event.”
