Friday foundation donates bus funds

MANSFIELD Autism Statewide Services has received a new bus thanks to a generous donation from the Harry and Clare Friday Foundation.

The foundation has provided $35,000 towards the purchase of the bus, which will be used by students and staff as a means to access education, leisure and exercise activities.

“About a year ago MASS became one of the main beneficiaries of the foundation’s fundraising efforts and for that we are very grateful,” Mansfield Autism Statewide Services director, Jenny Cleeland, said.

“We approached the foundation to see if they could assist and to our astonishment, they generously contributed $35,000 towards the purchase of the new bus.

“We are a not for profit organisation and so every dollar is vital to us.”

The bus’s predecessor was deemed unreliable with climbing mileage and years impacting its use.
