PINNACLE Valley Resort was the venue for the year 12 graduation night for Mansfield Secondary College (MSC) students, staff and families last Thursday night.
It was a celebration of a journey, both individual and collectively shared through the secondary years, with the many highs and lows, achievements and growth across the years.
Allison Colyer, year 12 co-ordinator, hosted the night, with principal Tim Hall and school council president Sandra O’Brien also speaking.
In congratulating the students and thanking the staff and parents, Mr Hall urged all graduates to “stand up and be counted, hold true to your values, and follow your hopes and dreams”.
Ms O’Brien lead a toast to the MSC staff, then handed over the microphone to the school leadership group of Mel Challen, Harry Green, Ethan Doyle, and Willa Marker-Reynolds.
Speaking on their behalf, Mr Doyle thanked the assembled audience and wished his fellow students the best for their future, sending them off with a quote from Margaret Meade: “Always remember you are absolutely unique, just like everyone else”.
Awards were then presented for academic, general and school based apprenticeship excellence, and the Marj Coombes Memorial Award, presented by Rotary president Bob Eycken, which went to Kiana Lockhart.
