Lucy is disappointed we are watching our world die

NEW BREED: Young Lucy Chatterton represents a new breed of student.

SOMETIMES it is not about the journey we have taken, but instead about the one we are about to begin.

So it is with young Lucy Chatterton.

Having just finished her final year of high school at the Mansfield Secondary College, Lucy’s eyes are firmly set on the future.

However, unlike graduates from years gone by, Lucy represents a new breed of students.

Not only is she determined and academically driven, but Lucy is also painfully aware of the world that awaits her – a world that she is determined to help change.

“The idea that, as a society, we are watching our world die – it really disappoints me,” she said.

“We can be sustainable on a global level, but we choose not to be.

“It’s not a matter of finding a solution – the solution is already there, we just need to act on it.”

Having aimed her sights on a double degree in law and science, Lucy has her heart set on litigating us into action.
