Mud did not deter them having fun at get together

WET WILLPOWER: Not to be put off by the wet conditions at the annual Mountain Cattlemen’s Association of Victoria Get Together at Mitta Mitta on the weekend were future cattlemen and women (from left) Jaxon McCormack, Bryce, Jake and Tayla McMillan and Cobie McCormack.

SAYING it was muddy might have been an understatement, but no one minded at the annual Mountain Cattlemen’s Association (MCAV) Get Together.

Held over the weekend at Mitta Mitta, the rain dampened the ground, but certainly not the spirit.

With five tractors on standby from Sunday, most cars, trucks and even four wheel drives needed a tow to get them safely back onto firmer ground.

The MCAV cup final race event was also cancelled due to track conditions, but committee member Brett Lancaster took home the trophy after accumulating the most points during the obstacle course and cattle work phases.

However, despite weather everyone agreed it was one of the best events yet – with the welcome rain a small price to pay for what is known as a ‘must attend’ event on the bush calendar.
