Roff won’t apply for chief position

MOVING ON: Mansfield Shire Council’s chief executive officer David Roff will not be reapplying for that position when the council advertises it later in the year.

MANSFIELD Shire Council has announced it will advertise the position for a new chief executive officer in the coming months.

The contract for existing chief executive officer, David Roff, will expire in August and instead of offering a two year extension of contract, council has decided to advertise the position, although encouraging Mr Roff to apply.

Mr Roff has said he would not be an applicant for the position and did not want to discuss that any further.

“I have appreciated the opportunity to work in such a terrific community over the past eight years and will be remaining in the area,” he said.

Mayor Marg Attley said Mr Roff will leave council in a sound financial position which will be confirmed in the forthcoming Auditor General’s report on council.

“He has participated in community events across the shire with a number of major projects achieved under his leadership,” Cr Attley said.
