Godber celebrates a century of games

CENTURION: Colin Godber is presented with a certificate to mark his 100th match for Delatite before Saturday’s fixture against St Josephs.

DELATITE second XI travelled to the Friendlies Society Reserve in Benalla to take on St Joseph’s last Saturday.

Congratulations to Colin Godber, celebrating his 100th game for the Delatite Cricket club.

Colin was awarded honorary life membership with the club and congratulated on his impressive achievement in a short ceremony before the game.

Delatite won the toss and elected to bat first, and St Joseph’s looked to dominate early and made short work of Delatite’s top order.

Wade Gladstone made full use of the pitch conditions, demolishing the top five batsmen in the Delatite top order, as Gladstone finished with remarkable figures of 5/12 from his eight overs.

Aside from Jarrod Glennon with a handy 14, the Delatite top order fell like dominoes and it looked like a well below par score and an easy win for the home side.
