Seconds win after double century partnership

EXCEPTIONAL: Jarrod Glennon (left) and Aaron Madsen combined for a thrilling 224 run stand for Delatite against Goorambat/Devenish in the Trewin Shield last Saturday.

DELATITE second X1 headed to Benalla again on Saturday to play Goorambat/Devenish at the Arundel Street ground.

Back in the team, captain James Bartlett proved his toss winning talent and decided Delatite would bat first.

The hot weather and the fall of an early wicket did not faze Delatite, and Jarrod Glennon and Aaron Madsen began to look in form.

Both batsmen played fine cricket, working the ball into gaps and consistently finding the boundary.

After the 20 over mark, Delatite found themselves at 1/100, a very acceptable score, but Madsen and Glennon kept scoring runs at an even higher rate, and Goorambat could only watch as ball after ball was dispatched.

This exceptional 224 run partnership finally ended after Aaron Madsen fell prey to a lucky caught and bowled for an outstanding 90.
