Hot moves in men’s basketball

BREAKING BRAD: Basketball and breakdancing appeared to intermingle in last week’s men’s basketball, with Brad Lockyer busting this skilful move mid-court.

IN the cooking February heat, two sizzling games of basketball were played out in the men’s competition last Tuesday.

Game one saw the Cowboys take on The Palms, who had recruited well over the summer break, with the addition of Tyler Chisholm and the return of Al Kilgour.

Good defence by the tall Cowboy crew saw The Palms limited in their shooting in the first half, and according to the score sheet, the Mule Train, Markwick and the Sherriff posted some team rousing points to see them up 22 to 11 at half time.

Finding their feet in the second half, The Palms swayed back with 11 necessary points from Chiz, some handy points from James Gardiner, and some good setups by Fraser Cameron.

Just surviving the comeback, the Cowboys were lucky to get away with their 35 to 31 win.

Murphy Fresh played some good, structured offence against Merrijig in game two but struggled to convert.
