THE Delatite Cricket Club entered the Benalla and District Cricket Association’s record books when both its First XI and Second XI sides won last Sunday’s double-header Twenty20 grand finals at the Benalla Gardens Oval.

This feat follows last season’s achievement that also saw Delatite win their respective grades’ finals.

The seconds commenced the day’s proceedings against Benalla who had won the toss and elected to bat on the tried and true BGO wicket.

The Delatite bowlers were subjected to some powerful hitting from the Benalla batsmen but effectively held the opposition to a very achievable 4/131 after the allocated 20 overs.

Wickets were shared among the bowlers with Peter Scales (1/15), Fergus Patterson (1/15), Tim Davidson (1/22) and Jarrod Glennon (1/26) the wicket-takers.

Delatite began the run-chase with openers Aaron Madsen and Peter Scales who provided the crowd with some entertaining batting that achieved a healthy 50 run partnership before Madsen was caught at the wicket from a Tom Webster leg-cutter for 13.
