Delatite seconds continue that winning feeling

FLYING: Delatite wicketkeeper James Bartlett flies high to get the return for a run out chance, but unfortunately, not out.

THE Delatite second XI played Violet Town in a one-day match on Saturday, again at their home ground of Lords.

Captain James Bartlett won the toss for Delatite and elected to bat first.

Openers Rohan West and Todd Howland put Delatite off to a terrific start.

West once again performed some brilliant work with the bat and smashed his way to a quick-fire 50, with eight fours before being caught.

Howland remained very solid at the other end, despite the Delatite middle order collapse and worked his way towards a very admirable 60, before being dismissed.

After the fall of West, the Delatite middle order underwent another of Delatite’s middle order flops, with only James Bartlett and Tim Davidson managing to break the double figures, both with 11 runs.

However, once again Fergus Paterson stood up in the lower order, with another excellent display of batting.
