From jockey to owner, Kylie Egan’s passion hasn’t waned

IN THE SADDLE: Kylie Egan is never more at home than when around horses.

HORSES have been part of Kylie Egan’s life for more than 50 years.

Born in Woodfield in 1960, she attended the old Bonnie Doon Primary School, then Mansfield Primary School and finally Mansfield High School for matriculation.

“As I grew up my life was full belt in sport, especially basketball,” she remembered.

“I was also riding horses since I was very young, so I wanted to stay around Mansfield.

“So I took a job at the State Bank where I stayed for 11 years.”

This is one attribute of Kylie’s – when she takes a job, she sticks around.
