LOCAL bike rider Cameron McGann got back on the bike to ride over 850km in January as part of the fundraiser, Ride to Recovery.
Covering some of the most difficult terrain in Tasmania, the Hobart to Launceston ride raised funds for blood cancer research.
For Mr McGann, it was an opportunity to make a difference, despite the fact that it was more than 10 years since he was last on a bike.
Inspired by the chance to make a difference, Mr McGann said he was participating in the Ride to Recovery to raise money and awareness for leukaemia.
Having now recovered from his exertions, he has taken some time to fill his supporters in on his ride.
“We flew to Tassie on Sunday, February 22 arriving to a balmy 35 degrees in Hobart, very nice, what could possibly go wrong,” he said.
