IT was a hectic weekend at the Mansfield Bowls Club for Labor Day weekend with two days of the annual tournament matches being played.

Up for grabs on Saturday was $1500 in prize monies while Sunday’s best took home a total of $1200.

Weather conditions were perfect for both days of competition which saw more than 100 bowlers take to the perfectly groomed greens.

Organised by the men’s group of the club, Saturday’s games saw teams of three playing two bowls competitions while on Sunday teams of four lined up for the day.

Teams from as far away as Torquay, Euroa, Wangaratta, Moyhu, Benalla, Alexandra, Eildon, Seymour and Violet Town as well as many of the Mansfield members pitted their skills against each other.

Saturday’s winners were the team from Euroa of Nola Boz, Margaretha Cerini and Primo Boz with a point score of 48.
