Long vehicle parking again questioned

HAZARDOUS: Many visitors to Mansfield have been forced to overlay single car park areas in an endeavor to park their cars and trailers - sometimes with dangerous consequences.

WITH an estimated 10,000 additional holiday makers hitting the Mansfield district again over this past long weekend, the question of “where do I park with a trailer” has arisen.

Matthew Whytcross wrote to the Courier over the weekend questioning the dilemma of where to park with longer than usual vehicles.
“Having grown up in the Mansfield community I still often return to visit,” Mr Whytcross wrote.

“It seems most times when I pass through the main street I see yet another example of the lack of parking for longer vehicles or vehicles with trailers.

“Mansfield is a well-known destination for visitors and travellers, to which I would estimate that a high percentage of these tow a trailer.

“If they were visiting the region for camping, boating, caravanning, motorbike riding, horse riding or just locals with a tool trailer or collecting firewood – it often requires towing.”
