SOME people just love cooking – hopefully others like washing up.
Jill O’Halloran has been catering since she was 13 years old, and still loves cooking and being creative.
This love led her to being trained as a chef and in hospitality in Coventry, after which she worked in Germany as part of her training, followed by periods in the Channel Isles and then England.
When she came to Australia, she worked at the Sydney Opera House and at Orpheus Island, off Queensland.
But all roads lead to Mansfield, and eventually she came to assist her brother Martin Satchell at Pasquini’s, which later became the Collopy Street Cafe.
Here, she met her husband John, whose family has been in the area since about the 1860s.
