Kim still tops in Mansfield’s eyes

WELL DONE MUM: It was a family affair at the Rural Woman of the Year awards on Friday with (from left) Kim’s dad, Jim Osborne, Kim Stoney and children - Tilly, Sam, Jack and Bella, mum Glenys Osborne and Cindy McLeish (MLA, Eildon).

KIM Stoney may not have been given the top gong for the Rural Women’s Award on Friday, but she was just as thrilled to be named as one of the finalists.

“What an honor it was to be selected as a finalist among these inspiring rural women, and I wish Katie Finlay (winner) all the very best for her busy year ahead,” Ms Stoney said.

“It was wonderful to see a highly-regarded country-orientated celebration in the halls of Parliament House, capturing the attention of so many ministers present for the ceremony.

“I’d particularly like to thank Cindy McLeish for her support.

“The Rural Women’s Award is a magnificent recognition of a progressive rural leader.

“We are fortunate that RIRDC, the Department of Economic Development and Westpac are so dedicated to Victoria’s rural communities.”
