Classic brings out the dedicated

CLASSIC WAY TO SUPPORT CAUSE: More than 300 participants braved the wet conditions to run in the Mothers Day Classic in Mansfield last Sunday. Participants, most of whom wore ‘something pink’, ran, walked and even rode along the Rail Trail and the Stock Route, helping to raise more than $15,000 for breast cancer research. THE annual Mothers Day Classic fun run was held on Sunday and Mansfield played its part.

Organiser Sophie Yencken noted that they had 450 register for the Mothers Day classic, although due to weather conditions only 320 actually participated on the day.

“However, based on the pre-registrations, we raised a total of $15,150 for breast cancer research,” she said with great pride.

“Of course we could not have done it without our wonderful sponsors and the coffee from Mansfield Produce Store.

“It was also great to see such a turnout from the Lauriston Howqua Campus along with their mums and dads.”

Before the runs, Ms Yencken noted the resons why all were in attendence.
