LAST Friday, Mansfield’s ladies team was pipped at the post at their home bowl, going down by one point to the team from Marysville.

There was a good turn out for the annual event, with 16 teams from the region competing and relishing the excellent condition of our greens and fairways.

Marysville came out winners with 98 points, with Mansfield second with 97.

The home bowl is the biggest event on the calendar for the ladies and involves a great deal of organisation to make it a success.

Well done to the Mansfield team for their excellent score, and to all the helpers who ensured that the day ran smoothly.

Wednesday’s stroke event attracted a field of 19, with Robyn Baker the winner, carding an outstanding 67, well below her handicap.
