Plenty of fun out on the golf course

THIS week has been an unusual one for golfing ladies, with two team events being contested on the home course and bowls teams also in action.

Last Wednesday, the ladies held a “666 twist” event, a fun game played in teams of two.

In this format, the two players multipy their stableford points for six holes, then add them together for the next six and finally take the best score for the last six.

Great fun, particularly if both players get three points on the multiplyer holes, not so great if one gets three and the other nil – friendships can be tested.

Winner on the day was the team of Lesley Anderson and Marion Foster, on a coutback from Cheryl Sargent and Shelley Comerford.

The other team event was held on Saturday, and involved mixed teams of men and ladies, quite a rarity in the club’s calendar.
