Police on the job over weekend

AN Endeavour Hills man had his licence suspended after allegedly being caught drink driving by Highway Patrol officers in Bonnie Doon on Sunday afternoon.

Police from State Highway Patrol East were conducting a breath testing site, as part of Operation Regal, on Maroondah Highway when they intercepted a Mazda ute about midday.

The 26-year-old male driver from Endeavour Hills tested positive to a preliminary breath test with a reading of .102 per cent.

The man had his licence suspended immediately and will be charged on summons with drink driving-related offences.

Operation Regal commenced on Friday, June 4 and ran until midnight on Monday focusing on road safety.

Additional police officers from Highway Patrol were allocated to the Mansfield region specifically for this weekend and targeting speeding and other offences.
