THE search for a new Mansfield Shire Council chief executive officer has concluded.

Alex Green, currently director of works and services at the Corangamite Shire, has accepted the position and was formally announced at a special meeting of council last Wednesday night.

Mr Green will commence duties on Monday, July 27 prior to current CEO David Roff’s departure on August 13.

The recruitment process conducted by council was exhaustive, with some 38 applications received and six rounds of interviews conducted.

“I’m delighted with the selection of Alex Green as our new CEO and look forward to his enthusiasm, strong initiative and extensive knowledge of local government to support Mansfield through the challenges the sector will face in coming years,” Mansfield Shire mayor Marg Attley said.

“Council would also like to acknowledge the contribution made by our departing CEO, David Roff, who leaves council in a very sound financial position.
