Back to the old ways for the Eagles

IT is a long trip home from Rochester after a game of footy – even longer after a comprehensive loss of 70 points.

It must have been an unhappy long trip for a coach who said after the match that it was a disappointing game.

The Eagles had a slow start to 2015, before they bounced back with four wins from their past five matches, including Kyabram and Mooroopna in back to back weeks.

Before the game senior coach Simon Dolling was quoted as saying, “Our stars have played well and we expect that from them, but it is the fact that our middle tier and bottom six players have contributed that has made a big difference.”

Having won at Rochester last year, the trip should not have fazed the Mansfield boys.

Such was not the case, as the Eagles’ performance got worse as the game went on.
