Mansfield Farmers Market is growing in popularity

MARKETS have a certain feel about them that many visitors like, especially those where they can come and buy fresh food items.

The Mansfield Farmers Market is just such a one, specialising essentially in food and home grown stock, with a good smattering of local producers displaying there.

Event organiser, Ali Walker, said the idea came to her after she used to attend Oakleigh Market with her family.

“It was the feel of the market and the community,” she said.

“I was looking at what options we had for starting one and someone said to me ‘do it yourself’.

“So we started with around 15 stallholders and it has slowly grown.
