Warwick Crawford selected in junior training squad

VLINE TRAIN-ING: Warwick Crawford.

MANSFIELD under 16 footballer Warwick Crawford has been selected in the 50 strong Goulburn Murray (GM) VLine Squad to train for the state carnival later this season.

The squad was finalised last week following recent trials at Shepparton, and will be put through their paces in two practice matches against North East Border (NEB) this Wednesday, July 15 under lights at Wangaratta Showgrounds, with the first game starting at 5pm.

Head coach Scott Watson is looking forward to seeing all 50 players in action in the two games this week.

“All of the players worked really hard, and the coaching staff was impressed with the intensity and commitment of the players,” he said.

“These two games next week are an important part of the next stage of preparation for the State Carnival to be held in Gippsland from September 29 to October 1.”

Player performances with their clubs and in the squad practice matches will be monitored, before the final division one and division three teams are announced next month.
