B graders win by a goal in a thriller

PLAYING coach Leonie Berry made sure the team knew that this result would make or break the goal of finals netball for the B grade side.

With this aim in mind the whole team hit the court with tenacity and played out a strong first quarter to gain a solid lead at the first break.

In the second term Rochester came out stronger and more hungry for the ball.

Sophie Yencken and Robbie Robinson worked hard to produce some turnovers in defence, but the Tigers were generating more opportunities all over the court and shooting accurately.

They caught up fast and the rest of the game was neck and neck.

Some changes at half time saw young gun Sophie Mitchell come on in defence and Jess Harris move to the attack end.

The experience of Harris and Berry in the centre court put pressure on the other side.

They moved the ball down the court and fed into goalers Sue Dolling and Rose Hood with precision.
