THE GVFL season is getting to the pointy end and teams from one to eight are all in the mix to make the finals.

Last Saturday the Mansfield Eagles, sitting at eighth, headed to Princess Park to take on last year’s premiers the Shepparton Swans who were sitting equal second.

The reigning premiers had won their last four games in a row, three against teams in the top six.

Mansfield was coming off a terrible game against Rochester and needed to head to Shepparton with the same intent they arrived at Kyabram just recently.

The last time these teams met in round six the Swans won at Mansfield by 46 points – this week was much closer though, just a 19 point victory to the Swans.
