The Eagles hopes for the season end

TWAS A DIRTY DAY: Jamie Sheahan showed just how bad the ground conditions were on Saturday. PHOTO: Ken Rainsbury

THE rain had stopped by the time the senior Eagles and Shepparton Bears footballers took to the field in Mansfield on Saturday.

However, for the first time in two years, the ground was faring the worst for the conditions.

And in front of a small crowd – it was a tough day to be at the footy – the Bears adapted to those conditions better and ran away with a 19 point win.

Needless to say it was always going to be a tough assignment for the Eagles missing so many quality players such as Boshevski, Burbury, Gavalas etc.

The Eagles started slowly but were well in the game, only down by 10 points at quarter time.

By half time the margin was one point, and then two points at three quarter time.
