MANSFIELD’S young performing arts star Liam Wilson recently returned from the world championships of performing arts in America.

Ever-conscious and grateful of the support he receives at home from his family, friends and the wider community, Liam wanted to put together a report from his perspective about his experience as a way of thanking everyone.

Here is his story:
“Last month my family and I travelled to the United States of America for the ‘world championships of performing arts’ where I was representing Australia in the categories dance and modelling.

“The three-week experience changed my outlook on both performing and life in general.

“Working with 63 countries and integrating with various cultures was incredible, but just as valuable was learning to live independently in a new environment.

“Many of the people I met and worked with did not speak English and worked with interpreters.
