COMPLACENCY is strongly not advised when it comes to believing the security you have in place with your business is enough.

This is the message given by Leading Senior Constable Wendy Willingham, crime prevention officer – Mitchell Police Service Area.

LSC Willingham lead a discussion last Thursday night at a public meeting regarding securing your business and home against burglaries, sponsored through the Mansfield District Business Association.

Business operators who attended the meeting gained further knowledge on what to do to protect their property; and procedures for staff to follow in case of robberies or detection of suspicious customers.

Attending the meeting were the latest victims of burglaries, Mark and Debbie Poole, who told a little of their story and the reactions they were experiencing.

Although their business has all the right security measures in place, they have still been robbed twice in ‘smash and grab’ raids in the space of three weeks.
