Lots of favourites at Book Week parade

Across the Mansfield Shire Book Week was celebrated last week with a variety of activities from child care, kindergarten and through the primary school years. Mansfield Kindergarten celebrated Book Week last Tuesday with a special dress up day. Some of those enjoying the fun were (back, from left) Elsy Hope, Ruby Polkinghorne, Zara Yencken, Rubi Taylor, Kirralee Higgins and Ciara Meek; (front) Sophie Mars, Jacob Paulus, Carly Desmond, Riley Coyne, Reiley Gibney-Schelfhout (wolf), Jack Bryant and Tessa Learmonth.

THERE were lots of traditional favourites at this year’s St Mary’s Book Week parade – including Where’s Wally, Cat in the Hat and Harry Potter.

But with the rising popularity of Disney Movies – such as Frozen, Despicable Me and Minions – there were also a large amount of characters featured from the latter.

Some inventive families crafted outfits into Fantastic Mr Fox personas, along with Rambo, GI Joe and Motocross riders.

All in all it was another great year for the annual Book Week festivities, with teachers, students and even some mums and dads getting into the spirit.
